Pink Shirt Day
Wednesday, February 28, 2024

Portage College supports Pink Shirt Day, joining thousands others across Canada who stand against bullying.

It is a day to spread awareness about bullying, whether it is in schools, the workplace, homes or online.

There is an astonishing 1 in 5 kids who will be affected by bullying. (CKNW Kids’Fund, https://www.pinkshirtday.ca/).

Take a look at these resources to learn more about bullying so we can help combat it: https://www.pinkshirtday.ca/resources.

Did you know Alberta also has a free bullying helpline and online chat service? Learn more here: https://www.alberta.ca/bullying-find-supports.aspx .

Let's show our support for anti-bullying efforts by wearing PINK shirts to campus on Wednesday, February 28th!

If you're not on campus, you can still participate by posting a picture to the Portage App or Counseling Facebook page with the hashtag #PCPinkShirtDay2024.

Together, let's create a culture of inclusivity and kindness.

We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
