Despite the windy and rather cold day, more than 200 community members and former Portage College students enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers and conversation at the Saddle Lake campus on Friday, September 16. Portage instructors Dave Hunter and Patricia Amyotte assisted the students in helping prepare and serve the food for the 200 guests.
Student Advisor for the area, Sandra Merchant and Public Relations staff Jacqueline Giasson and Ryan Hlewka were on hand to welcome the community, pass out some college swag, and answer any questions about the college. Trish Miller from the Portage College Students Association was also available to meet community members.
"The Saddle Lake students did a great job. We had lots of conversations with students who attended years ago and stopped by to tell us how they are doing today, thanks to Portage," said Hlewka.
