Every year, the Portage College Library awards their Reader Participation Awards to two students. One winner is chosen from the Lac La Biche campus and another from the community campuses. Winners for 2010-2011 are Darlene Forrest of the Lac La Biche campus and Evangeline Stanley of the Frog Lake campus.

The Library Reading Award Program is open to all students registered with Portage College and runs from the beginning of the College year to April 30th each year. Participants register items they read by completing a simple entry form for each item. Forms are available at the Circulation Desk and through Instructors at Community Classroom locations. The award consists of either a $100.00 bursary toward the next year of studies, OR a Canadian Oxford Dictionary and selection of the student's favourite reading.

Students can pick up entry forms at any campus or print their own here and record what they have read during the September to April term on them. Submit your entries to your instructor or directly to the Library. At the end of April the entries are reviewed winners are chosen.
