The Portage College Museum of Aboriginal Peoples' Art and Artifacts (MOAPAA) received a generous donation after the Rural Municipalities of Alberta Conference (RMA). Barry Feledichuk, Foreman for Urban Transportation, Utilities & Airports of Lac La Biche County entered and won a draw from WSP that gave the winner the ability to donate $1,000 to a foundation of his choice.

"WSP has been a long standing supporter of the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA, formerly AAMDC) and has a local presence in many municipalities across Alberta including Lac La Biche County. WSP is pleased to provide continued sponsorship and the opportunity to support charitable needs in the local communities in which we all live and work. WSP would like to congratulate this spring's draw winner from Lac La Biche County Barry Feledichuk as well as the Museum of Aboriginal Peoples' Arts and Artifacts." Said Brad Grant, Area Manager for Athabasca & Lac La Biche of WSP Canada Inc.

At the time of the draw MOAPAA was ramping up for its 40^th year anniversary celebration, the Grand Opening of the PNIAI Exhibit and a lot of work was being done to get the museum ready for the big day.

"This donation will help the museum in a big way. Our team is purchasing Indigenous art for the museum to expand its collection. We hope that this will attract people to come to our college to see what we have to offer in regards to Indigenous contemporary art and Indigenous art history." Said Nancy Broadbent, Interim President and CEO of Portage College.

Currently the Lac La Biche campus is under construction for the summer and the museum is unavailable for viewing. The Museum will be up and running in the fall of 2018. Contact the below for more information.
