The course covers classroom instruction and practical training. Students are evaluated through a practical skills test administered by our instructor. After completing and passing the assessment students can then write the provincial knowledge test.
Who needs a “Q” endorsement?
Air brake Q endorsement is required for drivers of vehicles with:
- an air-only braking system, or
- a combination of air and hydraulic braking system
Some topics covered over the course of the program include:
- Braking fundamentals
- Fundamentals of compressed air
- Vehicle braking systems and operations
- Foundation brakes and brake adjustment
- Brake system inspection
- Long downhill grades/bobtailing
