Basic Welding Evening Course

In this upcoming Basic Welding course, you will learn how to safely use various materials, tools and techniques integral for welding. This course covers the basics of shielded metal arc welding with related theory and practical lab instruction. You will learn how to weld common joint types on mild steel that is often encountered in manufacturing, construction, and repairs. Increase your good welding habits by getting hands-on experience in fusion welding of mild steel in both shielded arc welding, GMAW (MIG) and torch cutting, and care for equipment.

Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of Basic Welding, you will:

  • Have gained knowledge and skills in basic welding
  • Be able to weld common joint types on mild steel
  • Feel confident and safe while welding
  • Fabricate small projects
  • Obtain a Recognition of Participation Certificate upon successful completion
