Portage College and the Alberta Snowmobile Association have developed a 10-hour snowmobile safety course for industry and companies that use snowmobiles extensively to access backcountry work areas. The course is broken down into three main topic areas: Safety, Maintenance, and Operations. The students must pass a theory exam and a competency exam to obtain certification. All students must bring a fully functional snowmobile, outdoor clothing,
personal protective gear and a CSA approved helmet.
