Wildland Firefighter Type 1 Firetack

This 18-day training program is designed to prepare personnel in the practical and technical skills required to work as a highly trained, dedicated Wildland Firefighter Strike Force member. A Wildland Firefighter combats forest fires using the most modern initial attack and sustained action firefighting techniques. Their training in modern firefighting techniques and safety increases their demand during large fire outbreaks. This program consists of lectures and field training, using the techniques and standards set by the Forest Protection Division of Alberta Department of Sustainable Resource Development.
