Heavy equipment operators learn skills in operation of a crawler dozer, excavator, and motor graders plus additional training on alternate pieces.  All programs start with a minimum of 40 hours simulator training.

As an operator trainee you will also gain additional knowledge in soils, map reading, surveying, environmental protocols/land management, service and maintenance.

Earthwork projects are a critical part of the oil & gas industry with the development of seismic, roadways, site pads, operations facilities, camps and reclamation projects.  Additional employment opportunities are available in the private sector and municipalities in maintenance.
