Fine Arts Certificate

Discover Your Passion.

The certificate in Fine Arts prepares students to move onto other post-secondary institutes to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts. The design of the program allows students to take the first year of Fine Arts in their regional area acquiring the foundational skills needed in the visual arts.

The curriculum design includes hands-on studio classes with theory in design principles and art history. Students will learn visual art skills in the areas of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and mixed media. Learners will be given the opportunity to work with a number of mediums in order to explore and discover their own artistic passion and interest through project-based study. The courses are designed to introduce and develop specific techniques and design with the focus of the program on developing skills and exploring media. In addition, learners will have the opportunity to work with an artist from the visiting art's program and/or Artist in Residence program.
