The Native Artisan program offers a fantastic opportunity to learn traditional and contemporary art forms. If you want to learn how to tan hides in the traditional Woodland Cree way then this is the program for you. Artistic skills are enhanced with hands-on learning in Beadwork, Sewing, Footwear, Porcupine Quill and Fish Scale art, Fine Arts and Design, Nature Crafts and Carving. The quality and creativity of student art work is displayed yearly in our Aboriginal Art Expose held at Portage College Art Studio each May. This is a distinct and unique program, the only one of it's kind in Canada.
