If you take pride in careful, precision work and are mechanically inclined then Steamfitter-Pipefitter may be just what you're looking for.
With training and experience you can build a lasting career with prospects of attaining supervisor positions such as foreman or construction superintendent. You could even become self-employed by working as a consultant, contractor or sub contractor.
As a Steamfitter-Pipefitter you will construct, install, maintain and repair piping systems used to carry steam, water, air, gases, chemicals, solids and fuel in industrial and manufacturing plants and in water purification and water treatment systems. You may also install and maintain heating and cooling systems for houses and high-rise buildings.
Pre-employment Steamfitter-Pipefitter
The Pre-employment program is designed for those with no previous experience. It's only 16 weeks in length but provides anyone who is interested in obtaining employment in the steamfitter-pipefitter trade with an excellent theoretical knowledge and practical experience. The pre-employment program will include the first period apprenticeship technical training as well as industrial safety.
