May 5 is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S). It's also referred to as Red Dress Day, in which red dresses are hung from trees to commemorate the lives of the men, women, children, and two-spirit people that were lost.
We encourage you to participate in events and ceremonies in your community to help create awareness for this cause.
More information about this event will become available closer to the date.
