Portage College Receives Major Donations from Rotary Club and Canadian Natural to Bolster Student Food Bank
April 17, 2024

Portage College is delighted to announce two significant contributions to our student food bank. Our valued partners, The Rotary Club of Lac La Biche and Canadian Natural, have generously donated $1,500 and $2,000, respectively.

The Portage College Food Bank is committed to ensuring that no student must choose between their education and their next meal. These donations will significantly enhance our ability to support students in need throughout the academic year.

Ian Thompson from Canadian Natural Resources, in the Surface Land, Indigenous and Stakeholder Relations department, shared his perspective on the donations: "Canadian Natural is proud to give back to the communities where we operate. We understand the importance of post-secondary education and the financial challenges it can bring. That's why we are especially proud to support the Portage College Food Bank, helping students manage these challenges."

Portage College extends heartfelt thanks to both The Rotary Club of Lac La Biche and Canadian Natural for their support of our students.

These contributions will directly impact many lives, ensuring students have the necessary resources to succeed without the stress of food insecurity.
