Use this process to apply to Portage College if you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident (landed immigrant) or a protected person (refugee).

Important: Applications are not processed until payment is received. Ways to pay your application fee and tuition.

    Part-time students are welcome to register for individual courses. Credit weightings for each course are available on program pages.

    Apply to Portage College

    Choose a program that fits with your learning plan. Check out Programs A-Z. If you need help contact one of our Student Advisors.

    If you don't meet the entrance requirements we have learning options for you. Don't see a program that suits your needs? Ask our student advisors about open studies.

    Now you’ve selected your program or courses, you’ll need to gather all the required documents. You can find a list of them under the academic requirements and other requirements listed on the program page. This will help us determine your eligibility to enroll and whether you’ll need a placement test.

    If you plan to use Apply Alberta to apply for your program you will need to gather some information together before you begin your application.

    Once you’ve chosen your program and determined that you have the admission requirements, you are ready to apply. There are two ways to apply, you only need to use one method.

    We recommend using ApplyAlberta. First time users will need to set up a profile. ApplyAlberta facilitates the transfer of academic transcripts free of charge.

    You will need to pay your $53.50 application fee directly to Portage College, Here’s how.

    Students wishing to apply for courses or programs that start in-between regular term dates should use this fillable PDF Application for Admission form.

    Once you click the link to the PDF application form, you must download the form to your desktop first before completing it.

    Note: To download the form, Adobe Acrobat is required. This will allow you to fill out and submit the form by Email. To get Adobe Acrobat, click here.

    After completing the form save it then email it to the College.

    Any supporting documents can be emailed separately to info@portagecollege.ca or bring them into your local Portage College campus.

    Acceptance
    Applicants will be advised of their acceptance by email. Accepted students will receive an acceptance letter followed by a pre-registration form. The College reserves the right to grant or refuse admission to any individual. Applicants who are not accepted will be notified and referred to a Student Advisor for alternate suggestions or recommendations.

    Deposit - Career Programs
    Students accepted into Career programs are required to pay a $100 non-refundable tuition deposit within thirty (30) days of the date on the Letter of Acceptance to ensure a space in the program. The balance of the tuition fee is due by registration date. Here’s how to pay your deposit.

    Part Time Students
    Part-time students are welcome to register in individual courses. Credit weightings for each course are available on program pages. Part-time applicants will be accepted based on availability of space in the course, approval of the Program Coordinator and payment of fees. Documentation (i.e. transcript or program certificate) and/or placement assessment may be required. Books and supplies are extra.
