The type of application needed depends on who you are and what kind of courses you want to take.
Canadian Students Applying to Career or Upgrading Programs
If you're a legal resident of Canada and you know which program you wish to apply for, please follow this link to the ApplyAlberta website. This one-stop application site will allow you to apply to Portage College and authorize transfer of your Alberta high school and/or post-secondary transcripts. If the program of your choice is not listed in ApplyAlberta please download the PDF form. Follow this Three Step Application process.
All applicants must be at least 17 years of age. Exceptions require a case conference review.
Important Note: We cannot process your application until the non-refundable application fee is paid in full. Please see the Program Dates and Cost Schedule above for the current application fee rate. Click here for payment instructions. Former students applying to return to Portage College must pay all outstanding accounts in full before their application can be processed.
Applying for Apprenticeship Programs
Apprenticeship training is delivered at various Portage College campuses. Eligibility for apprenticeship training is determined by Apprenticeship and Industry Training, Department of Advanced Education and Technology of the Government of Alberta.
To apply for Apprenticeship programs please visit Apprenticeship and Industry Training. Once you are an indentured apprentice, you can automatically see your eligible classes at training providers across the province.
Students coming from other countries need to apply through a slightly different process with the help of our admissions staff.
