The Portage College Hairstyling Salon is opening October 11, 2016. The salon will offer cuts, styles and multiple hair and scalp treatments performed by the College's Hairstyling students for a reasonable rate. With the first appointment already booked, the salon will provide excellent hands-on experience for the talented students.  

"I am very impressed with the students' progress and the skills they are developing. The salon is a wonderful opportunity for the students to showcase their knowledge and skills. We are all very excited and looking forward to sharing this journey with our future clients," said Stephanie Monteith, the coordinator and an instructor for the Hairstyling program.  

With on-going, progressive classroom learning, the students will be able to provide more salon and aesthetics services later in the academic year.  

"We're very proud of what our first group of hairstyling students have accomplished in such a short period," said Dr. Trent Keough, President and CEO of Portage College. "It will be wonderful for the community to not only experience first-hand our new facilities, but also to have the opportunity to support these talented individuals."  

Located on the lower level of the College, the Portage College Hairstyling Salon will be open Tuesday - Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. To book an appointment, please call 780-623-5555.
