ABOUT THE POSITION
Portage College is hiring a front-line administrative professional for the St. Paul campus Service Desk. This key role provides reception, responds to student and public inquiries, supports campus events and public relations activities, and assists with program administration across departments. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the St. Paul Service Desk, responding to inquiries and directing students, staff, and visitors.
  • Provide administrative support to program coordinators and regional staff, including word processing, mail handling, and scheduling.
  • Assist with campus events, meetings, and public relations activities.
  • Manage classroom and vehicle bookings, and coordinate exam schedules and invigilation.
  • Support student services with registration, orientation, ID cards, and locker assignments.
  • Process campus payments, maintain floats, and prepare financial reports as per Finance procedures.
  • Order and manage supplies for the St. Paul and satellite campuses.
  • Provide support for academic programs, including distance learning, testing, data entry, and course documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or certificate in Office or Business Administration; equivalents may be considered.
  • At least two years of administrative experience, preferably in post-secondary.
  • Proficient with MS Office, email, internet, and Unit 4.
  • Knowledge of records management and FOIP.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and phone skills.
  • Organized, accurate, and able to multitask effectively.
  • Works well independently and in a team.
  • Exercises good judgment and maintains confidentiality.
  • Minimum 50 wpm typing speed.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; willing to travel.
  • Current police information check required.
