NEW FOR FALL 2021 - students return to campus.
The Alberta Government has announced that post-secondary colleges and universities will be returning to face-to-face delivery where possible for September 2021.
Rest assured, Portage College will continue to monitor the pandemic situation closely and take guidance from Alberta Health Services and the Ministry of Advanced Education. If there are any changes or adjustments to the program - we will make those announcements to the public. Be sure to check back here often for updates.
We offer all four periods of Apprentice Electrician training. Periods 1-3 are each 8 weeks of training. Period 4 training is 12 weeks in length. To apply for this Alberta Post-Secondary training you will need to be a registered as an Apprentice Electrician with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
We offer all three periods of Apprenticeship Welder training. Each training period is eight weeks in length. To apply for this program you must be registered as an apprentice with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).
The barber certificate program teaches the many techniques that will be required in the profession. This course consists of theory and practical hands on experience.
The Hairstyling Certificate program is 1400 hours of theory and practical, as well as hands on experience in our modern on-campus Hairstyling Salon. Affordable tuition and quality instruction. Ask us about credit for High School CTS Cosmo classes.
This program is for anyone interested in obtaining training and employment in the welding field. It provides 16 weeks of theory and practical in the classroom and shop.
