Portage College Launches Digital Document Wallet, MyCreds™
April 23, 2024

Effective today, Portage College students and graduates will now have 24/7 direct access to transcripts via the MyCreds™ platform. A secondary phase of the project will see additional academic documents made available through the platform to be introduced at a later date.

The MyCreds™ platform is a digital document wallet that allows for certifying, sharing, and verifying academic credentials. Portage College will engage with the platform both as a sender and receiver.

Through MyCreds™, students will be able to securely and conveniently access and share their academic documents with other colleges and universities, government, employers and third parties. Documents issued through MyCreds™ are tamper-evident and cryptographically signed, making them authentic and official.

“At Portage College, we understand the value and importance of intuitive navigation to services and ease of access for all users,” says Bev Moghrabi, Vice-President, Student and College Services. “Implementing the MyCreds™ platforms allows Portage College to modernize an important aspect of engaging with and supporting students, allowing them to easily access and share official documents anytime and anywhere. We’re excited to meet students’ needs and enhance their user experience.”

Students and graduates will gain access to the MyCreds™ platform through the Self-Service Banner and will be prompted to set up their MyCreds™ account upon first access. For information, troubleshooting and support details, students and graduates are encouraged to visit the Portage College info page at www.portagecollege.ca/MyCreds.

"Alberta colleges and universities have been strong supporters for MyCreds™ since its inception," says Romesh Vadivel, ARUCC MyCreds™ Project Board Director. "As we celebrate our third birthday, we are inspired to see Portage College launch, a school that has been supporting learners in the province for 50 years. With seven campuses spread across the north in Alberta, Portage learners will be well supported with the MyCreds™ online 24/7 support model. Congratulations to the team for successfully joining the network and continuing to support quality education and service delivery."
