International Letters of Acceptance

Conditional Letter of Acceptance

A conditional letter of acceptance means that you are allowed provisional admission to Portage College with certain conditions attached to it.

It will contain your student ID number, program, location, whether the program is part full time or part time, start and end date and our Designated Learning Institute (DLI) number 0111010246767.

Your conditional acceptance letter will include an estimate of the tuition and mandatory fees for you program. You will be required to pay a $5000 non-refundable confirmation deposit to receive your Provincial Attestation Letter and reserve your seat in the program.

You must meet all the conditional requirements before we can officially offer you a place in one of our programs.

Official Acceptance Letter

Once you meet the conditions outlined in your conditional acceptance letter, we will request your provincial attestation letter from the Government of Alberta and issued your official acceptance letter.

You may use the official Acceptance Letter to apply for your Study Permit.

Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL)

As of January 22, 2024, a Provincial Attestation Letter may be required to apply for your study permit. Portage College will work the Government of Alberta to issue your PAL once you pay your confirmation deposit and meet the conditions outlined in your conditional acceptance letter.

For more information regarding the PAL, please refer to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website.

We acknowledge that Portage College’s service region is on the traditional lands of First Nation Peoples, the owners of Treaty 6, 8 and 10, which are also homelands to the Métis people. We honour the history and culture of all people who first lived and gathered in these lands.
